Just saw "Journeyman", and I've seen it before!

Well, I have to give them props for casting two guys who actually look like they could be brothers as brothers. Sometimes I forgot which one I was looking at.

I was hooked ten minutes into it.

I forgot to mention this in my first post, but Mrs. Journeyman must have made a serious fortune in a dot-com company (or is the CEO of Wells Fargo, The Gap, or Levi’s, or comes from “old money”) because a big Victorian house with a front yard like that in San Francisco is way beyond even “average” dot-com millionaires.

He could prevent Niobe from killing herself so she could be in season II. She was so hot in season I-- what a tragic loss!!

I give this show 6 episodes, max. It was terrible. Absolutely terrible. I hate to see a good actor wasted like this.

The implication is that the property was pretty run-down when they bought and extensively renovated it, though it does have a certain “Lois Lane’s apartment” feel to it. It’s a pretty huge place for a couple with one child.

I didn’t like Chuck, either, but I kept the TV on because I didn’t want to miss the beginning of Heroes.

I think you misspelled “teh”.

Huh… that’s a good sign for me. We pretty much have the same taste.

Haven’t seen it yet, but based on the Wikipedia description, it looks like QL with some Wonderfalls tossed in. Could be interesting.

I guess I liked it better than the average. If there were something compelling opposite it I might switch away but I’ll probably watch just based on sheer inertia.

I didn’t love it and I was a huge Quantum Leap fan. It was definitely slow, but seems like it has potential. And they’ve already got me on the couch since it’s on after Heroes, so I’ll give it a shot.

I do like that it’s set in San Francisco.

She’s in the Doctor Who (speaking of time travel) spinoff Torchwood…so maybe he does

she kills herself in that too though

It was boring and had huge direction/editing problems. So the wife sees her husband’s car in a wreck on TV, rushes down to the site in hysterics, her husband is MIA and possibly in a hospital or worse, and two days later she’s at some bullshit kid recital, all smiley? Doesn’t pass the bullshit test.

She’s being brave for the sake of her son. Recall that following his first (or maybe second? I forget) disappearance she said something about how she was running out of excuses to tell the kid. Since she doesn’t know anything at the recital she’s putting on a brave face for his benefit and probably for her own to avoid dealing with people asking her pesky questions.

Well, where else would you expect damned souls to go, really? (Although the very first one, Father Salinas, was in New York.)

I suspect there actually was, or was going to be, a reason for them all being in the same area–a plot reason, that is, and not a handwaving metaphysical reason. I choose to believe that, at any rate.

Notable: For the first time in history a guy digs up a little box from his past and it saves his marriage.

Halfway through the show I muted the TV and put the 12 Monkeys soundtrack on the stereo. It was enjoyable enough.

Oh, and don’t do drugs, kids. One day you’ll take too long in the bathroom and everybody you know will stage an intervention.

Reminds me of that Far Side cartoon set at a bear funeral where the “deceased” sits up in his coffin: “For crying out loud, I was HIBERNATING! …Don’t you guys ever take a pulse?”

What about that whole Pacific Heights vibe? I keep hoping Michael Keaton is the villain: some kind of Ming the Merciless as portrayed by Betelgeuse. That would be awesome.

Yeah, but the damned souls stopped hanging out in NYC when Giuliani cracked down on the graffiti…

I liked it. The only other time travel show I’ve seen is Quantum Leap (and Time Tunnel from years back), so this is new to me.

I liked that he got smart quick and didn’t dither around. The man has confidence, and he’s already practicing.

I do wonder how long it will last. I like that it didn’t take several episodes to convince Katie, and I expect he’ll convince the cop brother soon. That’s a good bit of the conflict and tension taken care of – maybe too quickly.

How long before Livia and Katie meet? That could be fun.

The guy with the big portable phone – what did he say? I didn’t catch it.

If he were smart, he would’ve hocked the ring and bought some high rising stock like Apple or Google to bury in the back yard. Since he can bring his iPhone, he could also load up his laptop with financial data and bring that back in time with some cash. Or, with California real estate the way it is, just purchase a few property deeds. After a few journeys, he’d have a fortune, enough to quit his day job and convince his wife and brother. But as mentioned, his swanky home seems to indicate he is already very wealthy.

I have never been to SF, but I also immediately spotted this as BS.
