Just saw "Journeyman", and I've seen it before!

I’ve been watching and overall, I like the show. My main criticism is that every one of his time “leaps” takes him to a critical juncture where his course of action is obvious.
Which makes us think that his leaps are controlled. But if they’re controlled, why not just have the controllers do the leaping? If TPTB have the power to put him in the right place and time, what do they need him for? Just do it yourself, skip the middle man.

But then there wouldn’t be a show.

I dunno. I kinda feel sorry for the guy. He obviously hasn’t changed his hair and clothing styles for twenty years.

On the other hand, he also hasn’t really aged over the last twenty years, either. He just looks a bit more “tired”, apparently.

I call that “The Zombie Paradox”. Every zombie movie is apparently the first recorded incident of zombies- nobody’s ever even heard the Z word before.
That goes hand-in-hand with “The Celebrity Paradox”. Every movie or show exists in a parallel universe where said show does not exist and its actors are not famous; all other shows and celebrities are famous, and fodder for pop culture references. In some cases, further adjustments need to be made. For example, Bruce Willis once guest starred on the show Friends, and another episode referenced the movie Die Hard. In this case, either someone other than Bruce Willis starred in Die Hard, or the Friends universe’s Bruce Willis does not look like our Bruce Willis; otherwise, the episode(s) with Bruce guesting would be littered with exclamations of “Omigod! It’s Bruce Willis!”, thus bogging down the show.

IBut a 747 from SFO to PDX? What in what crazy world would an airline would run a route like that? And no real San Franciscans use a cable car to get around town. I’m pleased to see the show is continuing to be shot on location in SF though even if they get the geography wrong.
Totally. Read my post on Page 1, but I gotta admit, this is one of the reasons I keep watching. When was the last time you used a cable car? I’ve lived there for 15 years, and I have used them exactly…zero times. Loved the scene from the early 90’s on Octavia with no City Freeway.

Oh, and my last flight from SFO to PDX was an Alaska (Operated by Horizon*) VRJ700 that seated about 40 people.

*[sub]They say that every time, so I may as well play along[/sub]

As the Men on Film guys from In Living Color would say, “HATED IT”.

I only saw the second episode and found it both confusing and boring. Not to mention the lead actor is an ugly, unlikeable goomer.

While I like the show, the thing I’m having trouble with, is his inability to tell anyone what’s going on. What’s worse is that he’s a writer! he should be able to tell a story. This is right from the top of my head:
Honey, I’m going to tell you a story. There’s a woman who gives birth to her love child on a plane. Years later that child is resenting her mother for the fact that she doesn’t know her father. After the mother dies, she seeks out the father only to be rebuffed. That is until the father is dying of leukemia and she re-bonds with him over the fact that she is a better person than him. And by joining the donor database to save her father, she ends up saving a humanitarian who today is saving lives in Darfur. And honey, I made all that happen; I delivered the baby, I got the mother to tell her about her father, I was there when she met her father for the first time, I convinced her to see her father before he died. All because of me this humanitarian is alive and saving lives. And that is why I missed dinner.
oh and I’m seeing my dead wife who didn’t really die, so much as leave our timeline.

It’s a great story that his wife, his boss and ex-best friend should all hear. They may be ok with his disappearances if they did.

To which the wife, boss, and brother reply: “You mean, like Quantum Leap?”
