Just started a DS9 re run

I agree…except for The Magnificent Ferengi. The only Ferengi episode, and one of the few ‘comedy’ episodes in any Star Trek, that is actually funny.

Is that where Quark steals a cloaking device? His leaning against the invisible device talking to… Sisko, I believe… is funny as hell.

Yeah…I think I need to go back and figure her out.

I remember being really really excited when I saw that the actress was in some other work. And having a general feeling of fondness with regards to her.

But I can’t remember many specific scenarios she was involved in where she wasn’t the naggy bitchy wife. Even back on TNG, in the wedding episode, she was the annoying “randomly emotional woman” whose behavior Data can’t understand.

I think I kind of liked when she was trying to be a teacher, in terms of her scenes, even though I was opposed to the premise (prominent botanist reverts to traditional female occupation because her husband has transfered). I also like her bonding with Kira when she was having Keiko’s baby.

Dukat…hmmm..started out as a stereotypical villain. He got more nuanced and interesting for awhile. But then he just went randomly batnuts.

The Magnificent Ferengi - Quark assembles a team to rescue/ransom his mom from the Dominion.

I remember her being enjoyable on Night Court.

Can we keep his wife though? Please?

I haven’t seen it, except for an occasional rerun, since it’s original run. I really, really wish Netflix would stream it.

DS9 boasts some of the best space battles of all time.

Glad I bought em all as box sets the first time I watched

A great episode. “I hate Ferengi.”
Thanks, Galen.

DS9 syndication started from episode 1 in July on Space Canada. I’ve been watching them on and off.

What I HAVE been doing to get my fix is reading the DS9 Relaunch books. For those people who loved Garak as much as I did, the book A Stitch in Time was written by the guy that played him, providing both a backstory for Garak, as well as an account as to what he did returning home to a war ravaged Cardassia.

Early DS9 suffered from the same problem as all of TOS and the first season and a bit of TNG: stupid, episodic story lines that didn’t thread well together or compel me to watch each and every episode in order. I don’t know what it is; maybe the actors just need to find their groove before the writers know what direction a proper Space Serial is going to take?

Oh, and I watched the series with my mum. That was our show. So, the episodes where Quark bosses around his Moogie held a special amusement for me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ditto. They’ve got every other Star Trek series on streaming, and the only one of the lot that I ever really liked was Deep Space Nine.

It’s coming in October. I don’t know why it’s coming after everything else, unless they saved the best for last.
