Ugh. My sympathies 7 up yours. I had trouble staying on my feet out there too. A layer of water over a mixture of slush and ice does not make for secure footing. Plus the first street I had to cross after leaving my house today was ankle-deep in slush, since Vancouver doesn’t have anywhere near enough plows to handle the side streets and yesterday’s snow never got cleared.
The snow was pretty enough for a while yesterday afternoon, but now it just needs to vanish instantly.
Things are pretty much good in my area now… though my college and most local schools are still closed. I live on a hill and the road on one side is just slushy snow now, but, unfortunately I live on the other side, and the road–and my driveway–is a solid hunk of ice. It’s still early in the day though, so I have hopes it will either start to rain or just warm up at all, period. We will finally be able to escape then.
I just can’t get over how cold it is! My car is a solid hunk of ice, at least 2 inches thick.
