Fort Lupton Municipal Judge Paul Sacco has been sentencing repeat noise ordinance violators to listening to music they don’t like.
That includes Barry Manilow, Barney the Dinosaur, Glenn Close singing opera and “Only You” by The Platters.

Barney the Dinosaur? I’d rather be drawn and quartered your honor.

Do they turn it up to eleven?
That would be justice.

There are people who don’t like Barry Manilow?

One more outburst like that and I’ll subject this entire courtroom to “Mandy”

How does he know what music the offenders don’t like? He could be sentencing them to two hours of pure bliss, for all we know.

They did this on an episode of Judging Amy. She sentenced a kid to listening to show tunes with her clerk, and he turned out to love them so much, that they were cranking the volume up on those and dancing in the halls. Judge Amy had to commute his sentence.

Here is the news story. Pretty funny.

The judge needs to be careful the sentence isn’t seen as cruel and unusual.

Now, if he had sentenced them to Tom Jones, he would have been ok, because while it would still be cruel, well…

it took me a couple seconds, but…
you win the thread!

It might turn out to be a good idea,I’ve always had a soft spot for punishments that fit the crime, how about people who leave their dogs crap on the pavement(U.S. sidewalk)being made to go round the streets under supervision picking up dog dirt at five A.M. for a couple of months?

You could likewise extend this to drunks who piss/vomit in the street(Clearing up similar),litter louts and graffiti dickheads and probably quite a few more anti social activities.

does he make them watch movies about rape and Nazis too?
