Justified 4.11 - Decoy

The best source I have found for actors in the show says Yolo is played by Bobby Campo. More about him here and here.

Hijack: As we didn’t have a thread last week, we didn’t get a chance to acknowledge Art’s terrific speech praising Drew:

In a thread about a previous episode, I asked why all the interest in Drew. This speech nicely explains it.

Don’t get me wrong, Raylan is the greatest US Marshall since … I dunno, since TV started.

But Rachel, Tim, and Art rock, too. Rachel gets good zingers on Raylan, Art consistently cracks me up, and Tim is finally revealing what a bad-ass mofo he is.

I love the writing on this show.

I was watching the Walking Dead during the palaver* between The Guvnah and Rick, and was thinking to myself, “If only Raylan were sitting in Rick’s place, this’d all be taken care of post haste.”

*Watching Justified always gets me saying things like “palaver.”

Seems to me both Tim and Raylan will be angling for a big Marshal promotion, unless the inevitable Colton-Tim confrontation goes badly for him. Good for Tim.

Drew and Rachel were in the engine of the coal train, so they must have certainly stopped the train somehow to get on board, I presume they called the local train dispatcher. Ain’t no boxcars on a coal train to do the hobo thing.

Perhaps they boarded the train during its regular stop in Harlan?

Forgot to mention, I realize Justified isn’t actually shot on location in Kentucky but the circle-the-wagon standoff scene looked way too much like California rather than Appalachia than they usually manage (like the episode where Raylan and Boyd visit the Hill People, which they did do a good job with).

I love the way they don’t bother explaining things with this show right away. Great example last week, when Raylan’s trying to figure out how Drew was going to get out of town. He talk to himself, “I’m Drew Thompson, not Shelby, how do I…” then figures it out and immediately leaves the room without explaining himself. Then in the next scene Drew tells Ellen Mae he’s going to fly out. And here’s me forgetting all about the flying thing :smack:

When Bob, already beaten to a pulp, manages to pull the knife and viciously stab Yolo…it was one of the most satisfying TV experiences I ever had. I actually yelled in excitement and scared my dogs.

I think Boyd knows he has to fight Theo whether he gets Drew Thompson or not. Ava should have killed Augustine when she had the chance.

Well, it’s implied that Rachel and Drew made their way to the train shortly before the first time that Boyd and Picker arrived at the school. If they’d all been gone when Boyd got there, then Boyd sends the signal to Augustine to widen the search, and maybe they think to check trains.

This way, Boyd has to stay at the school’s perimeter waiting for his backup to arrive, and if that takes 15 minutes or so, that buys enough time for Drew and Rachel to be well away. In other words, they were stalled for the whole time that Boyd was waiting for backup, not just the time it took to chat.

I love that they used an Ale-8 bottle for the Molotov cocktail. Ale-8 posted a pic of Art with it on their Facebook page.

I also love that last week they finally addressed the show’s biggest geographic problem, when Art arrived in Harlan (from Lexington) and said something like, “That took longer than I expected. How are you coming down here every other day?” (Harlan is a good three-hour drive from Lexington.)
