Is there some meaning behind Justin Timberlake’s propensity for naming songs and albums after two things separate by a forward slash? e.g. “Futuresex/Love Sounds,” "“LoveStoned/I Think She Knows,” etc. Is this a Timberlake thing, or a general trend?
Well, as for the second one, LoveStoned/I Think she Knows, is punctuated like so because the track consists of two parts. There is the song that comes first, then an interlude, and they have independent names. He does this a bunch of times on the album (making it great to listen to as a whole, rather than track-by-track, because the interludes make the tunes flow together).
Same thing with Summer Love/In the Mood, What Goes Around…/Comes Around, Sexy Ladies/Let me talk to you. FutureSex/LoveSound (the track) seems to be an exception - can someone else correct me on that?
Or, he just thought it looked cool.
