justlisted.com commercial

There’s a commercial for justlisted dot com that’s been playing over the last couple of weeks. It sounds like someone’s shooting a gun in the background. Not Hollywood gunfire, but the muted pop-pop-pop one would hear if someone was some distance away from a shooter. At first I thought it was someone shooting a few blocks away. When the commercial played again I thought it might be a glitch with the audio on my TV. But this is the only commercial on the TV that makes the sound.

Is it a glitch on the audio (the commercial’s, not the TV obviously), or is it an intentional sound effect put there by the makers? If it’s intentional, what is the reason? Surely they couldn’t have thought, ‘Hey, let’s put some distant gunfire in the background!’ (It does make me remember the commercial, but it makes me disinclined to look for a house through them.)

I’ve noticed that the ‘pock-pock’ sounds are gone from the commercials now.
