K.I.T.T being a ford rustang seems very…wrong, K.I.T.T> should be a Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky, or perhaps a Camaro, or even a Dodge Challenger, I’d even accept a Viper, but please, no ford products…
“Michael, I need to be repaired again, why did the Institute insist on putting me into a ford chassis?.. oh, and I have this terrible pain in all the Diodes down my left side…”

As the original story resumes, the new KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) is absolutely the coolest car ever created: its supercomputer capable of hacking almost any system; its weapons systems efficient; and its body – thanks to its creator’s work and nanotechnology – is capable of actually shifting shape and color.
Bolding mine. from here
Uh, didn’t Dodge do this with the syndicated Viper TV series?

I know in Vper the regular car changed into the super car, maybe for Knight Rider they mean it can take more than one form.
Why is it Knight Rider anyway? Surely it should have been Knight Driver ?

No, Michael’s just a passenger. KITT is doing all of the driving emself.
Duke’s of Hazard with General Lee as a Transformer. Hmmmm.
Kitt and Zylons are they different or the same? You can never tell a Zylon from the real thing until they kill you.
Damn you, OP! I had convinced myself I imagined the whole thing.
