We’ve had snow for ages here, I know you lot have been laughing about it…but I’m getting fed up with it. Last night it started raining and finally we just had a night of frost instead of the white stuff. The house is still freezing cold, we are looking at spending around £25K on the place just to make it habitable for next winter. Bah. The builder’s personal opinion was that we should sell up instead of renovating, he said we need to gut the place but it’s full of the huge amounts of crap 'im indoors has hoarded and refuses to get rid of. Double bah.
In case any of you were ever remotely curious, this is 'im indoorsl. There. Another little bit of ignorance fought.
Just a drive by for now. I’ll catch up tomorrow, promise! I spoke with Lucy on the phone this evening, and while she is having a hard time staying “in the moment”, the fact that she is responding coherently and is “there” in the conversation is so…well, I cried after speaking with her.
My mouth is healing, water aerobics are still strenuous but becoming invigorating, and it is deep winter in Alaska. Hugs, yay’s, boo’s and smacks with a wet, smelly trout (or salmon) as applicable.

I recently learned to to knit socks, thanks to my crafty friends on the Dope, and have been possesed ever since. Socks galore! I’m swimming in wooly lower-bipedal-extremity-enclosures.
Would have posted on monday, but I’ve sick as a dog for days. Better today.
I wish I knew how to crochet anything more than squares. It looks so pretty and lacy and fun.

What kind of migas do you make that require tortillas? Recipe please? The migas I’m used to don’t require tortillas, but I’ve never cooked them so I can’t give a proper recipe. All I know is that they involve sort-of-frying broken up… well… miga de pan. Miga de pan is the white part inside Proper Bread (i.e., stuff like baguettes or ciabatta, with a proper crust).
Still crummy. New fields keep being added to the tables we’d already analyzed. I did mention those cases where we have “table A (field A, field B)” and “table B(field B, field A)” and both need to be filled, didn’t I? We have other tables where we need to define “codes I’ll use for stuff” which consist only of the code and three descriptions for it - and then when you use the code elsewhere it doesn’t copy the descs!

We have to go to the old crappy building. I think it’s still up in the air as to exactly where we will be sitting! These people, I swear…

Evening all. Waaaayyyy crappy day today - HRH and the muezzin woke me up at 5am! And then, the rest of the day looked like this (I don’t know the guy whose blog that is, but I didn’t have my camera with me to take pics of the thick, red dust haze that swallowed the country today!).

Tis raining out. Drippy, raw, nasty February rain. It’s like yesterday never happened. And I am a wee stressed because TH no longer goes away during the day, but is now camped out in our dining room, talking to people on the phone constantly and interrupting me to complain about the electric bill. I told him “we” shouldn’t leave the space heater on in the basement because it eats electricity and he got pissy and is back in the DR.
It’s going to be a long day. Anyone want to join me in constructing a colonial village house miniature? One at a time, please! It’s so nice to see such enthusiasm!
