I need a quick ansewer regarding the USB cables that come from the front of the case. The mobo has two separate usb mobo connectors colored yellow , with 9 pins and the tenth removed or not there
My question is does the two usb ports from the front of the computer go into one of these ports , leaving the second free for expansion , or does each go separately.
The Back of the puter USB is onboard , so thats not an issue
I am not exactly sure I am following but I will try to answer anyway. The front USB jacks are part of the case itself. Some cases don’t have them at all. When they do, you need a motherboard that supports those jacks through connectors on the MB that are meant to interface with the case.
You can hook one, both, or neither of them up depending on what your MB supports. The diagram to hook up the wires should be in your MB manual. You will have to hook up the wires from both USB jacks if you want to use both of them.
To clarify a bit , there are two ( I am going to call them buses)on the mother board. With two separate sets of usb wires coming from the front of the case . can these wires be plugged into one of the ports together, as long as the wiring instructions are followed , or do they need their own separate port
wires are marked as
Ground
D+
D-
+VCC
The manual seems to indicate that both sets of wires will go on one bus , but I just wanted to clarify
It has been over a year since I have built a computer like that but I am pretty sure they can just go on one. However, I don’t think it really matters as long as the wiring instructions are followed. Motherboards these days just like to have lots of room for USB ports.
