Kamala Harris and the runup to the 2024 Presidential Election {No more on Guns}

I got my “When We Fight, We Win” window stickers.

Both Israeli attacks on Lebanon and a NY dock worker’s strike are potential upcoming events that could have an impact. Any guesses on how, if so?

I do not donate to campaigns, but it is terribly unfortunate that my mother missed this one, so I mailed two money orders with poor forgeries of her signature on them, one for $47 and one for $19.20, because symbolic numbers are the best. No return address on the envelope, because I get enough junk mail as it is.

Can somebody please help me?

Recently in one of these political threads, someone linked to a site that supported 25 down-ballot Democrats, mostly in state-level battles, I think. The site let you split one sum among them all or make individual donations. I thought I had saved the link, but now I can’t find it.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

“Surely the leopards won’t eat my face!”

It may not be what you’re looking for, but the only one like that I can think of is Vote Save America.

Simon Rosenberg’s Substack regularly runs something similar to this depending on what you mean by “state-level”. It’s not governors, state senators, and state representatives – Rosenberg has links to donate to various people running for the U.S. House and a few running for U.S. Senate. He also has a single link to a pot that 15 U.S. representative candidates split amongst themselves.

At the link above, scroll down to " Winning The House" and " Keeping The Senate Blue". See if those look like what you were thinking of.

Should Walz or Harris go on a popular podcast such as Joe Rogan or Talk Tuah? Can’t hurt. Well, maybe not Rogan (in my personal opinion).

You mean one woman capitalizing on her 15 seconds of fame? Nope, they’d get ridiculed for that, and rightly so.

Marc Maron’s podcast would be a better choice for either of them. Or the Smartness podcast. Biden was on that one earlier this year.

Sounds pretty American to me. :man_shrugging:

Maron’s a good choice. Obama did that show, but it was in 2015, partway through his second term. He also waited until he had a foot out the door before finally agreeing to a one-on-one with Bill Maher (I’m not endorsing a Maher sit-down). At any rate, Maron would give her a couple of solid hours of intelligent conversation touching on both the personal and the political, and I’m sure she’d come off as pretty spontaneous and natural.

If they are going to do this (they won’t), they should go on Rogan. He’s #1 and he’s not MAGA.

Hawk Tuah has the #4 podcast, behind Rogan, Ben Shapiro, and Candace Owens (in that order), so her inclusion isn’t completely bonkers. However, Rogan is easily their best bet to reach a large MAGA-leaning podcast audience with a host who would be, compared to the others, “fair”.

They could also go on the Bill Simmons podcast, but he’s rather passe even though he has a large audience. Besides, Obama has already been there, and I feel that most of Simmon’s listeners will vote for Kamala anyway.

… sorry for replying to myself (kinda), but Tim Walz on Pat McAfee’s ESPN morning show would be good, too.

I’d love for them to be on Conan O’Brien’s podcast.

It may or may not help the campaign, but either way it would be entertaining and I’d love to listen to it.

Conan had both Barack and Michelle Obama, as well as Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, and those were great shows.

Thinking about it, I think it would probably help both of them show a more likable side than you’d see in interviews and campaign rallies where you have to be on message the whole time.

Not looking good. Three high-quality polls have Harris down about two percent in North Carolina; and, Michigan is looking less secure than a week or two ago. Pennsylvania, as usual, has mixed messages — they average to Harris up by a single percent, at most.

Georgia is looking unlikely. Arizona is looking better than Georgia, but still leaning toward Trump (barely). Wisconsin appears to be on more solid footing (at least for now).

Obviously Harris cannot lose PA, NC, and MI. She almost certainly needs two out of those three. If I had to guess, I’d say she’ll lose NC, win MI…and then, yet again, it all comes down to PA.

Wild days. Liz Cheney and Kamala Harris together in ripon Wisconsin.

Did you ever think you would hear a democratic rally crowd chant “thank you, Liz”?

Wasn’t sure where to post this, and I didn’t want to start a thread. I watched Liz Cheney appear with Harris. I would never vote for her and I vehemently disagree with most of her positions. However, she has come out strongly for Harris. She gave a good speech, and is being a true loyal patriot rather than a violent phoney one.

An intentional choice, I’m sure, and not just because Wisconsin is a swing state. Ripon is the birthplace of the GOP.

Yes, both spoke on the little white school house. Very good speeches on democracy and the constitution.
