Agree. I know she will not be the “automatic choice” in 2028 but I hope she contests the primary, wins it, be the nominee AND WIN the presidency.
I would not be unhappy with such an outcome.
Unless democrats buckle up and work hard on voter registration, Pennsylvania will go the Ohio way. I hope the democratic party leadership takes Pennsylvania seriously.
There’s been a modest increase in republican registrations but a much bigger reduction in democratic affliation.
For Kamala or any democratic nominee to win future elections, Pennsylvania will be the key state. The importance of this cannot be overstated.
One of my class mates at a class I took Nov could not make himself vote at all. Trump was bad he realized. But he said Biden made mistakes. Harris was apparently supposed to apologize for mistakes in the term. Then he would have shown up to vote.
I think Harris and Walz are used up. The social media world will push for a new candidate each term. Even over a sitting president. It’s a little odd, because those people do not vote in primaries to any significatnt level. They fail to pick the one they want. Then they join that large undecided group.
I’m always in favor of replacing politicians as much as possible. Politicians should be reminded that they’re disposable - keeps them from thinking too highly of themselves. And really, there are always more where they came from.

As Donald Rumsfeld might have said, ‘You get elected by the voters you have, not the voters you might want or wish to have at a later time.’ In order to win, the Democrats need to have messaging so that people like are willing to vote for them on their own. They can’t depend on people like that changing to align with what the Democrats want voters to be.
Intelligent beings? Because “people like that” are just stupid, self destructive and amoral. And what message would the Democrats send, since people like don’t seem to actually have any goal in mind.
Walz will continue as Governor. Harris may well run for CA Governor or senator.
As I say, if you claim you are incapable of distinguishing between something as simple as “bad” and “worse”, then you want “worse” to prevail but you don’t have the guts to say so.
I hope Kamala runs for California governor, wins and then is in contention for 2028 democratic presidential nomination. I think in 2028 it is hers to lose. She will be the frontrunner for the nomination I feel and goes on to defeat whoever is the republican nominee in the general election.
To all of the naysayers, the OP never said should be the Dem nominee in 2028, but just she should run. Considering it should be an open primary process, then yes she should and see what Dems think of her.

Considering she is a former senator, former AG, having experience of facing a candidate like Trump in a presidential contest, ability to fundraise huge amounts…she has many advantages. Not to mention she is a woman of halfblack/half Indian origin.

Only two women have run for President from a major party. Hillary Clinton whom many despised and probably would have lost to a lobotomized wombat just from people voting against her. And Kamala Harris and all would have to admit that this election was very strange.
If people are not happy with that take, let’s view it as them both losing to Donald Trump. There is no explaining the level of his appeal, his gravitas and his Nehemiah Scudder persona succeeding in the United States. Assuming the Trump assassination attempt was successful, would Harris have beaten Vance? What Pub is going to run in 2028 that will garner Trump level of sycophantic voters?
Admittedly I’ve only scanned the 230+ posts but I don’t see a ton of them proposing who would be better.
A number of us have noted that 2028 is a long way off, and Democratic candidates like Bill Clinton in 1992 and Barack Obama in 2008 were barely on the national radar four years earlier. Speaking as a liberal, who will almost undoubtedly vote for whoever the Democratic nominee is in 2028, I have no idea who the best candidate will be in 2028 – it may turn out to be a name that’s well-known today, or it might be someone that most of us have not yet heard of.
As you note, there’s no reason why Harris should not consider running for the nomination in four years, if she feels she has a strong case again, and I don’t think that anyone here has said that she shouldn’t seek the nomination.
The OP comes across, to me, as having rose-colored glasses regarding Harris, who is 0-for-1 on running for the Democratic nomination in an open primary, and 0-for-1 on running for the presidency in the general election. The OP comes across as feeling that Harris ran a great campaign in 2024, and was an outstanding candidate; many of us disagree with that, and have noted such.
