People keep telling me: “Every good thing you do will improve your Karma.” “What goes around comes around.” “If you’re having a bad time, don’t worry. Your Karma has good things in store for you.”
As I am having a streak of bad luck at the moment I would really like to believe the good things I have done will pay off at one time or another. But it seems nothing is happening.
So please tell me about the times your good deeds paid off or got rewarded.
Led an old lady across the street and she made you heir to her enormous fortune? I want to hear it.
Saved somebody’s life with the Heimlich Maneuver and won the lottery the day after? That’s the kind of story I’m looking for.
Listened to your roommate’s story of heartbreak one day and found $5 in the street the next? I’ll settle for that, too.
How about you take absolute crap from a family for months…(the family of one of my patients… Im a nurse in a dementia unit) and then 6 weeks after Christmas they present you with a battered bent and obviously re-gifted box of cheap cognac filled chocolates. (The chocolate had started to get a bloom or that white stuff on it…) Oh they said, you’ve been so good to Mom and we’ve had these for weeks, just waiting for when you were working.

Okay, how about last week I sent a laundry aide home from work because she kept getting dizzy and passed out. Two days later someone from the laundry dept shares their mango with me?
I have lots more like these. No million dollar tickets or anything though.
