Kasashi or Kazashi ring

In automotive technical documentation, I have come across a (seemingly) technical term for . It is “Kasahsi ring” or “Kazashi ring” and the term is used to describe an aerial for receiving RF frequency signals for remote central locking.
I’ve seen it a number of times but a trusty google/Wikipedia search is turning up nothing. Is it a sort of colloquialism like a ‘Darlington pair’?
Can anyone enlighten me?

Possibly the ignition antenna (aerial) ring? It’s an induction coil that actually sends the signal after you put the key in.

You may be thinking Kizashi as in the Suzuki Kizashi.

Hi @Max_S
I know what the component is and what it does - my question is about the term used to describe it. Why would this component be referred to as a ‘Kasashi’ ring?

(i’ve looked at the suzuki kizashi, wikipedia didn’t enlighten me either here…)

Unless it’s a Kizashi manual, your guess is as good as mine… :frowning:

If you are looking at Japanese manufacturers manuals, it may be something left over after translation. Wikipedia tells me,

Kizashi (In kanji: 兆) is a Japanese word which means “something great is coming”, “omen”, “sign”, or “warning”.

The Japanese Wikipedia page uses two characters (兆し).
