The following are some stunning pics of Katrina taken in Mississippi. These shots are of Nature at work not devistation.
There nice photos but according to this Snopes article, they’re not of Katrina. These images are actually photographs of tornadoes taken by storm chaser Mike Hollingshead in southwest Iowa in late spring 2004. Most of them are viewable on the 2004 Digital Photos section of his web site http://extremeinstability.com/2004photos.htm.
thanks, i thought i had a reliable source. my source did send me some actual post storm pics of plaquemines parish.
i’m proceeding to chastize him right now
we worked on oil rigs off the louisiana coast.
As a former resident of Eastbank Jefferson Parish ('83-'88), I thank you for that.
They ARE absolutely spectacular pictures, though. Wow.
Yeah that would pretty much scare the crap out of me
Those are spectacular photos, but I was thinking as I looked at them “Hurricanes are hundreds of miles across, not tens of miles…”
By the way, “Go away, Ophelia!”
See! Now you know why we Iowans laughed until our spleens ruptured when “Twister” came out.
You expect me to believe those are tornados? You mean they tied themselves to a pipe and survived? Bwa-ha-ha-haaa!!
I knew immediately they weren’t hurricane photos, but yes, they are spectacular. I love storm and lightning photos.
This is my favorite, because of the colors. I think it’s going to be a desktop for a while.
I knew they were not pictures of the hurricane when they were also sent to me earlier today. The sad thing is they were sent to me by someone who lives in Illinois and they should really know the difference between a tornado and a hurricane.
But as mentioned - cool photos and glad I was nowhere near enough to take the photos myself. Been there, no longer need to do that again!
The first and last look a little like V’ger.
