My better half and I got into the sneak preview of Chicken Run yesterday afternoon. Both of us being huge Aardman fans, we’ve been waiting with baited breath for months to see this flick. My rating: I’m giving it the 5 out of a possible 5. I haven’t laughed like that at a movie in months, and I’ll laugh at anything.
For those who haven’t seen it already, I strongly suggest seeing The Great Escape before you see Chicken Run. My S.O. hasn’t seen The Great Escape (I’m working on it…), and she didn’t get half of the jokes in the first half of the movie. Not that it wasn’t damn funny without the “in” knowledge of Steve McQueen’s time in “the hole,” it was just all that much better.
I am a huge fan of wallace and gromit and other works by nick parke. I am attempting to make this into an outing for a bunch of friends who also love wallace and gromit. I am so psyched to see it.
I was worried that I’d come into this thread and you’d hate it, then I’d have to worry whether I should take you seriously. “Should I go see it, or not?” I adore Wallace and Gromit, but I don’t wanna drop $25 on their movie if it stinks.
I was worried that the movie was going to stink, that it will come and go really fast, and be a major disappointment.
I liked KCB’s review of Chicken Run but I’m waiting to hear KFC’s review before spending the scratch to see this one. There is some promise though, I hear there a lot of breasts in this movie.
