Now that CTists have essentially captured the entire US government, I expect such things to become increasingly common, and eventually it will be functionally illegal to point out their lies.
I half (or perhaps more than half) expect to see some kind of Lèse-majesté legislation introduced, making “an offence or defamation against the dignity of a ruling head of state” illegal. Preferably a Class A felony. And retroactive to Trump announcing his 2016 candidacy.

So, Trump wants to tie California Disaster Aid to “Voter ID”. If I’m California, I wouldn’t accept those conditions. Don’t allow yourself to be blackmailed. If they give in to his demands, it will only encourage worse in the future. Blue States and Blue Cities have to stand up against Trump now, or it’s going to get a whooooole lot worse.

California should agree to Trump’s terms, take the disaster aid, and then do absolutely nothing about voter ID.
