Keep Hands Looking Young

I read this link and it seems like good info but some contradicting.

My question is with hand soap. Does it age your hands because of the chemicals?

Could you quote a few relevant paragraphs from it?

Well, it’s actually like a message board. But here are some:

wash it daily with a cleanser and use a toner. use sun block! it keeps u from getting wrinkles! for ur hands use a exfoliating scrub and intense hand cream, i recomend the body shop.
Always rub moisturizers and creams on your hands before bed and after washing dishes and stuff. It’ll make your hands less dry and wrinkly.
at night before you go to sleep you should rub fresh aloe vera on your hands

always use moisturizers and when washing dishes uses gloves. Also stress is a main factor for an aging body. I am also in my late 20’s and my hands look like a 50 year old.

Lotion them up really good and sleep with thin white gloves on to hold the moisture. Don’t use any lotion with mineral oil because that dries out hands.

Never take advice from someone who writes like that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, sun does cause skin damage. So does smoking.

Sunscreen will help prevent sun damage. Stopping smoking will help with smoke damage.

Lotions are not a bad idea but don’t do much to reverse perm damage. Some contain AHA and such that will reduce some wrinkles.

There are quite a few good cites out there where dermatologists have written articles about this. Better than atking advice from a MB.

I take it you never have shaken hands with a lifelong sheep herder?

Their hands are as strong as could be with skin as soft as a newborn baby’s butt. No need for fancy creams, lotions or gels.

Is that a recommendation for hand creams that contain lanolin?

No. It means take off the velcro gloves.

What about the use of hand soap? Do the chemicals cause any damage?
