I was at a “Play old records” party last weekend, and I whipped out my vintage copy of Sticky Fingers, and while waiting to play it I noticed that the writing credits listed under the song names show “Jagger-Richard”. Why would Keith be listed with his name spelled wrong on a record from the 70’s? Is his name really Keith Richard and we’ve just added an “s” over the years?
No, his name is Keith Richards. However, Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham had him use “Keith Richard” in the early days so people would think there was some connection with Cliff Richard, the UK’s biggest rock star before the Beatles (and pretty big even after then).
After he sobered up he changed his name back to Richards.
So what you’re saying is that he still hasn’t done it?
