Ken Starr? Really?

Ken Starr is giving the opening statement for Trump? Really?

NONE of the Republicans have bothered studying history?

Mr VOW is watching, and he said Ken Starr is talking, but not saying anything. I said, “That’s exactly what he did at Clinton’s impeachment trial!”

This is not a post about politics. This is absolutely Mundane Pointless Stuff that just so happens to begoing on in the US Senate, in the guise of an impeachment trial.

My head hurts. So does my heart. This poor country!

i am with you… good heavens, this is what you get when you can not argue facts.

at least mr. starr will not raise mr vow’s bp, put him to sleep, perhaps…

Trump picked his defense team not some amorphous group called Republicans. This is the same guy who employed a Cooley law school grad, Cohen, as his personal lawyer for a long time. Cooley is a regular feature on the American Bar Association’s ratings of worst law schools in the country. More recently he hired Rudy Giuliani as his personal counsel. His taste in legal representation is not towards quality.

Trump is not exactly a detail guy. He is not all that big on listening to advice from people who are aware detail oriented. He is also perfectly willing to throw Congressional Republicans under the bus on social media if they annoy or disagree with him. That certainly raises the possibility that some were fully aware of issues with Starr and cared more about their own ass than saving Trump from exposing his.

Starr may have actually been the best option from among those willing to take the job. We probably shouldn’t just assume that there was a massive competition.

For those that didn’t see it, Ken Starr had a protracted lamentation that impeachment in American politics has really gotten out of hand lately.

Stoopid!!

I’m tempted to pithe* about horses and open barn doors with respect to impeachments. But that’s not right. This impeachment would have happened even if Nixon and Clinton had never happened. The problem is that morals and personal character matter in politics and one party has decided to ignore that. Some might think they can postpone the inevitable, but the Devil will collect his due one way or another.

*Verbing nouns is fun.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

wiping away tears of laughter

making unladylike snort noises

Ken Starr was a pitiful, whining dweeb when leading the pile of horseshit against Clinton. He hasn’t learned very much in the intervening years.

Many apologies to dweebs everywhere for tarnishing your image.

The Senate “trial” has absolutely nothing to do with skill in the law. The Republican strategy is to appeal to the droolers. They’re doing a fine job of that.

Makes sense. Rufus T. Firefly just wasn’t available.

In the intervening years, he was too busy covering up sex crimes to learn anything.

This makes me long for the days when the Senate would occasionally feature a fist fight or beating with a cane.

It’s a brilliant move. Who knows more about rendering an impeachment unsuccessful than he does?

We should call for a complete shutdown of impeachments in the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.

They DO know WTH is going on. Their careers are at stake; the fate of the nation isn’t their concern. For GOPs it’s 1) buck Tramp and get primaried out, or 2) wait for a solid excuse like Putin’s pee tape so they can “do the right thing”, or 3) go with McConnell’s flow, acquit, and keep their seats. Dems are in similar position but happen to represent most Americans as well as the usual cartels. We can expect a quick Senate trial, rapid acquittal, then more articles of impeachment and another trial. The fun has just begun.

Stop impeachments? No, sometimes amputations are necessary.

Re OP: Ken Starr moved from covering-up sex crimes to covering-up treason. Nice job.
