I was just outside here at work, having a cigarette and chatting with an older man, veteran, who happens to work here as a maintenance person. He is, like me, in the A-Double-B camp (Anyone But Bush), and stated his firm opinion that the only way Kerry could pull this election out was to select Ed Rendell, currently governor of Pennsylvania, as his running mate.
Rendell has a great down-home touch, and is a wiley old political hand; he knows his stuff, and might well help counteract Kerry’s overly aristocratic background. But I’m interested, particuarly from those who are not committed one way or another, what others think of this possibility?
Please forgive me if this pairing has been bruited around already - if it has, I missed it!
