I was reading a story about Hugh Jackman’s latest role as Peter Allen in an upcoming Broadway show. Turns out the actress (Isabel Keating) who is to portray Judy Garland is the sister of a guy I went to school with AND the daughter of a woman who used to be a customer in the grocery store I worked at in the mid 80’s. She used to perform in town at various venues (at the time there VERY few). I ran her name through the Oracle of Kevin Bacon and she has a KB number of two. If you count associations like this, that gives me a KB number of four.
I did a little more research on her and she has apparently made quite a name for herself.
I think assigning yourself a Bacon number is a little bit of a stretch. You’re pushing the definition of “appeared in a movie with” a little bit there.
I suppose by the same logic, I’ve actually slept with Michael Keaton AND Corey Haim. Many times removed, though it may be.
It should really be seven degrees of separation, because that’s closer to the actual upper limit of steps you need to go to connect yourself with almost anyone in the industrialized world.
