Heart disease - The silent Silent Bob killer.
One of those incredible advances in medical science that would have guaranteed death for anyone only a few years ago. Now there are almost always very good chances of survival.
I’m actually to the point where, when I hear someone has a heart attack, I assume they’ll probably be fine unless told otherwise. Sure, maybe they’d not be the healthiest, but they’d be okay. All but one person in my life who has had a heart attack in the past, say, 5-10 years has survived. Some don’t ever get back to 100%, but they still survive.
Oh, and the one guy who died had had previous heart trouble, likely due to a genetic problem he had. And, even then, he had survived one heart attack a decade ago.
That said, celebrity heart attacks have been less successful (perhaps because the lesser heart attacks are less likely to make the news), so I was a bit worried about Smith. Glad he seems to be doing well.
Thankfully, not in this case.

Any word on how badly his heart muscle was damaged?
Makes a big difference in activity afterwards. I had a relative that survived a massive heart attack at 67. He was a full time farmer and could never do strenuous work again. He could walk and do light errands. He managed to live another 12 years.
Why didn’t Silent Bob use his Jedi mind trick to move all the plaque out of his artery?
He proved he had the skillz in Mallrats. Although you might need Willam to bang his head against the bed.

He sounds good, especially for someone that just had a massive heart attack.
I was at the show in Glendale that preceded this event. He did a great set… very funny, insightful, and poignant at times. There was no indication at all that he was not 100%, so this must have just hit him like a truck out of nowhere.
I’m damned glad I’m not having to say I saw him at his last gig ever.
Here’s hoping he has a full recovery. I had a very bad premonition about Anna Deavere Smith after watching her latest work on HBO. She looks to be so unhealthily overweight.
She’s also 20 years older than Smith.
It’s ironic that Kevin lost 85lbs a couple years ago and got much fitter.
I bet he works his body"s betrayal into his act.

Had a relative 7 years ago and I tried to approach it the same way. No one saw it coming. Was called about the heart attack and just assumed OK, that doesn’t mean she’s dead. Nope. Everyone else had the opposite assumption. Seems like I was the only one that actually had to be told she didn’t make it.
Nor does it clear the most fat. When your 1-2 weight loss punch is 1. Eat/drink less sugar and 2. walk, there isn’t much exercise being done and most of the fat loss is due to diet.
You saw it too? DAMMIT!
I misread this as “Kevin Spacey has massive heart attack.” I was wondering how people were going to react.
And he was set to direct the season finale of The Goldbergs.
