Keyboard Not Working

I have an Asus ROG, and after last nights shutdown and update, it was not working. Currently using the on-screen keyboard.

I checked online and found and used 1 pages suggestions. None of the pages suggestions helped.

Anybody have any ideas? Otherwise it will have to go into the shop, if I can find one.

Are you able to boot into the BIOS? If so, does the keyboard work there? Googling, for some ASUS computers, holding down F2 while pressing the power button will get you into the BIOS.

cant use f keys when the keyboard is dead.

That it only stopped working after an update makes me suspect that there is a software issue (perhaps the Windows driver) and not that there was a sudden hardware failure, so my suggestion was to see if it works outside of Windows. And another thing to try is a USB keyboard.

i tried the delete and force update, ran virus scan again, removed my usb trackball, would have to go out to buy a keyboard - my desktop melted in the house fire. i really wish linux would play nice with mmorpgs!

Make sure it’s a full reset and not just windows rebooting itself. The brand’s splash screen should show up and give you a few options (ie press F2 for setup, press DEL for BIOS etc).
It’s odd that a windows update would hardware problems that exist before windows boots.

it was a full power off wait 1 and power back on
