My keyboard doesn’t always register my presses. What do I do?
My keyboard registers my key presses 99% of the time, so I guess it’s not a big deal, right?

Try blowing compressed air in there.
Or buy a new keyboard. They give out after a while.
But it’s only like a month old. (Though, it’s been in its package in my closet for months).
My keyboard is a Logitech K120.
Which is a wired keyboard. Huh. I’ve only ever had lost keypresses with a wireless keyboard (some undiagnosed RF interference in my office apparently), which drove me nuts so I went back to wired and now no issues. Not sure what to recommend here - the keyboard could be defective, but as you say it’s new and the same model keyboard I’m happily typing on now.
Probably not broken, then?
Is it always the same key or keys that fail to register?
Wait, I think I might have figured it out. I’m a really fast typist, so sometimes I don’t hit a key when I think I did.
My brain is faster than my fingers.
if you’re on a windows machine … you can also optimize the key response rate configuration. s’good idea to first take screen-cap … documenting the default values.

the spoiler below contains link to a screenshot depicting microsoft’s generic keyboard-properties interface … found on the internet.
I tested the repeat rate, and all the keys seem to be fine.
Two thoughts:
Consider slowing down until you can type accurately as well as speedily.
The Logitech K120 sells for $8.99 at Walmart.
Maybe I’m just not quite used to it yet (It’s smaller and the keys are closer together than my old keyboard). I still make typing errors with it.
This is not an unusual problem. My mother was a journalist and an extremely fast typist on old-fashioned typewriters. When she switched to word processing (which was only about 12 years ago) she complained about the cursor moving around and text disappearing. I had to try at least half a dozen keyboards before I found one with the right range of key motion and key pressure. Once I found one that was appropriate to her speed and finger pressure, she was fine.
It didn’t act up at all yesterday or the day before, so I don’t know if it’s my imagination, or what.
