I’m so happy! Star Trek IIThe Wrath of Khan is finally coming out in a special edition DVD with the 116 minute Directors cut (We finally find out who Mid Shipmen Peter Preston really is) And a disk load of extras!

I have held off buying the bare Bones DVD just waiting for this…
Even though these are already I’m waiting for Special Editions such as Amadeus and Blade Runner, and Goodfellas.
So What Special Edition are you waiting for and Which one is the best so far.

I’m waiting for “Chariots of Fire” - not necessarily for a special edition, but one that is letterboxed instead of standard format.
I’m confused - weren’t all the Star Trek movies released on DVD as a set a while ago?
Did they really release an inferior version and now re-release the DVD with this director’s cut so quickly?
I’m waiting for a Special Edition of **The Matrix. I’ve held off buying the current DVD version because it is so minimal in its features and commentary that I know they’ll bring out a new edition. probably next spring, just in time for The Matrix Reloaded.
I also didn’t buy the DVD of Dawn of the Dead for much the same reasons. Of course, now it’s out of print, but next spring, Anchor Bay will release a 3-disc set (U.S Theatrical Release, Director’s cut, and German Theatrical Release), complete with featurettes, cast commnetary, and possibly Document of the Dead as one of the bonus features.
And one more piece of good news, 1776 is being released on DVD in July!
Thank God. My instincts were right, then. I nearly bought it last month. Luckily, I went with The Life of Brian…

This is very exciting. The absolute best Star Trek movie! I’m buying this sucker as soon as it comes out!

Peter Preston is Scotty’s Nephew.
That’s right…I read the novelization of STII and the whole nephew backstory was right there, years ago. Peter also had a sister in Starfleet, if that’s of any interest.
Nah, the one in the boxed set is still the same old crap DVD that was originally released.
