Tonight the topic was critical thinking, reasoning, and especially, logical fallacies. The instructor kept throwing out examples and I nailed every one, and was the first one to answer almost every one. I was all, “ooh, ooh, ooh, IknowIknowIknow!”
How? Not because of anything I learned in college. Six years on the Dope? How could I not fork a common fallacy on the first try? I don’t even hang out in GD, but c’mon. You pick things up around here.
The other part of the class was exposing possible fallacies in other students’ thesis statements, and presenting counter-arguments they may not have thought of for their persuasion papers. I am all over that. How could I hang out on the Dope and not have already read points and counter-points to just about everything?
