I wonder if I fit in here. I own dozens of used work shirts with names that aren’t mine. When someone notices (my credit card says I’m kayaker, my Joe’s Garage shirt says I’m Carlos) and points it out, Ill point to the woman in the football jersey and mention that she isn’t Patrick Mahomes.
Gotta ask. Why do you own dozens of used work shirts? Do they have to have someone else’s name to go in your collection? Have any workmen mysteriously disappeared in your area over the years?
A friend owns a bar. Twenty years ago we were goofing around looking into getting tshirts screen printed for the bar. I happened upon a local uniform company that supplied work shirts to businesses with the employee’s name on them. When Ronald quit working at Sunoco, the shirts were turned in.
The company had the used/laundered shirts for sale. I worked out a deal where we could buy them baled by size for around 90 cents a shirt, much cheaper than t-shirts. We then had the backs screen printed with the bar name and they were give-aways. They were popular for a minute.
Each time I bought shirts, I’d go through them looking for goofy jobs (Robinson Sewage Authority) and weird names (CLINT). I used them as shirts that were disposable if necessary. I still have a bunch. A few have my name.
I sometimes dress in costtume for no particular reason when leaving the house. I’m 48. I fail to see the problem with a kid in a dinosaur suit.
Isn’t all clothing just a costume?
Yep. Just a costume covering a naked body. (Note, some people get huffy when you point this out.)
I’d be all over something like that. I have loads of band T-shirts, but also local business work shirts, some given to me, others I paid for. People might not recognize me if I ever wore a plain one color T-shirt.
I just love that kinda thing.
Cool!
And a naked body can be a Lady Godiva costume. So nothing can be a costume.
Coming back here
Was browsing the “code of conduct” section from my local amusement park Valleyfair, and found that they specify that Halloween costumes… err “themed outfits” are (generally) allowed. About halfway down under “Themed attire”
So apparently they get questions from parents about if their kid can wear a dragon costume to the park…
