Hmm, did anyone notice that those lightsabers are distictly kid-sized? Do you think they’re just smaller training-sabers or do you think they make the poor kids make several sabers as they grow up?

Same principle with light sabers 
As I recall, it was just a regular helmet that Luke used, he complained ‘But the blast shield is down!’ or something like that. So it was just your typical space helmet which has a shield you can drop down, presumably to protect your face from bright lights or explosions or something. Doesn’t explain why the Jedi kids have big clunky helmets, except that it looks cool I guess. You’d think that they could just tell them to keep their eyes closed, honor system should be enough for Jedi and I’m sure Yoda would catch one if he peeked.
