Check out this picture from Episode 2. Yes, it’s real.
oh sweet jesus. Please don’t tell me that felch-monkey Lucas didn’t trim everything down and make a version with an all kid cast…
I’ve seen a bigger version of this, which includes Yoda.
It appears to be Yoda training young Jedi. This fits in nicely with the theory that Yoda trains all the young Jedi for a while, and then they get assigned to another Jedi as a padawan.
Hence, Obi-Wan telling Luke that Yoda is “the Jedi master who instructed me” is accurate, even though Obi-Wan was the padawan of Qui-gon Jin.
Nah, the photo is from the all-midget version, The Terror of Jedi Town
Look at what the kids are wearing-blast helmuts. And what are those things in front of them? Why remote seekers, of course!
The same things Luke used when HE was training.
Jedi training begins with the very young. It’s just a picture of some kids being trained, that’s all.
Makes sense. Hey, did the purpose of a blast helmet ever get explained? I doubt Han Solo would have one around his ship if all it was used for is Jedi-Training :).
What bugs me about this is that apparently, all good Jedi use blue or green sabers and all Sith use red ones. Why does Lucas have a problem with variety?
Yeah…why are you guys so weirded out by the pic?
Considering that lightsabers are supposed to cut through anything except another lightsaber blade, is it really a smart idea to have a bunch of blindfolded kids wielding lightsabers that close together?
The ones that are strong in the force will know when to get out of the way.
Truth is, I only posted this thread because the shot makes it look so stupide. I’ve read the script for Attack of the Clones and I can tell you that it is a good movie.
And yes, Yoda is in that shot(that one is a detail of it) and is explaining how to use a light saber.
And trust me…Yoda knows how to use a light saber.
Because that’s the way it is.
Actually, there is going to be at least one light sabre of a new colour in this movie. And it is pretty funky!
Ah, Yoda probably gave the kids Genuine Imitation KidPruf PrettyLight Sabers™. Just some plastic neon with a handle, not a real blade.
Please, look at the length of those blades. They’re “lightcarvingknives”, at best.
Actually if you look again the kids are using yellow sabers.
“Okay, but aside from the blue, green, yellow, and other-colored light sabers, what have the Romans ever done for us?”
And a light-knife is still long enough to cut those kids in two. Besides, you could put someone’s eye out!
Well, according to the toys, Samuel L. Jackson’s character (Mace Wendu?) has a purple-bladed saber, of variable length. And of course, we all know that Jackson kicks butt at whatever he does.
Presumably, a blast helmet is worn on the head to protect oneself from a blast. It’s opaque because it’s harder to make clear armor. It makes sense for Luke to use one in his training, because Han would probably have had one available on the Falcon, but why are pupils at an organized Jedi school not just using blindfolds?
And sabers don’t quite cut through anything but another blade… The power-room forcefields in Ep I also resisted them, if you’ll recall.
Actually, reading the books, not ALL the bad guys have red and all the good guys have green or blue. Leia has a red lightsaber.
And yes, the books ARE canon. Lucas said so.
'Nuff said.
According to the Star Wars Homing Beacon:
No kidding. Look at what happens to poor Grandma at Christmas.
