Something that just occurred to me:
In 2001 24 premiered literally days after 9/11 but of course was conceived and created before that, before Terrorism became the focus of our culture.
In 2016 Designated Survivor premieres depicting a neophyte President who is in over his head and never believed he would have to serve the office and has to learn the job on the fly.
