If you don’t believe in due process for people you despise, you don’t believe in it at all.
Ditto for civil rights, or anything else based on just plain fucking decency.
It’s not a coincidence that we ended up with an authoritarian who admitted committing sexual assault on a live mic. The people who elected him have different standards of “innocent” that they apply to different people (or fetuses) differently. A fetus without a brain is “innocent” whereas a black man who gets choked to death for arguing with an officer isn’t.
