Kindergarten too young to join the N.R.A. ?

[Stunned Sarcasm]

Not in Texas !!! God bless that child for flexing the full muscles of his Constitutionally-guaranteed rights to bear arms against all playground bullies, foreign and domestic.

Who will pay the diminutive soldier’s legal bills? Why, the N.R.A. of course. 'Pears to be that the real shame here is that he dropped his Constitutionally-protected firearm before fully exercising his rights as a Texan and American.

Cuz that sweet innocent little warrior was jes’ plain misunderstood.

Poor kid. Why won’t someone think about the shooters for once?

Fer fuxsake.

Clearly his parents hadn’t taken a couple hour class. Once you’ve been through one of those, firearms perfectly safe.

Where the fuck do you get that? It’s not in your cite or any other cite I can find about the incident.

You just made it up, didn’t you?

I don’t understand why people have to characterize the NRA as somehow wanting stuff like this to happen. I mean, isn’t there some legitimate ground to attempt to criticize them other than absurd straw men?

Why would the NRA pay this kids’ legal bills? Why would they be happy about, or advocate, any of this?

It’s about as logical as saying the ASPCA celebrates every time a pet snake bites and kills someone.

This story is at least partially bullshit anyway. Despite the media’s insistence that guns just “go off”, almost no gun made in the last century going to discharge from being dropped.

Who cares what you have to say, you are clearly contributing to the problem!!!

I’m no great fan of gun nuttery, but this is one of the dumbest OPs I’ve had the misfortune to read in a long while.

Clearly, the only way to protect the other kids at the school is to pass a bill requiring all elementary school students to be fully armed at all times. It’s the only logical course of action to provide proper defense to the K-12 demographic.

Young enough for sex education or free condoms (without a parent’s permission), an abortion (without parent’s permission), or young enough to not have their locker searched without a court order, or young enough to not have their freedom of speech violated with their “yo niggas!” tshirt being confiscated…young enough for a gun I always say.

Did I miss anything?

I’m pretty skeptical that there are a lot of 5 year-olds getting abortions with or without there parents permission.

I’m slightly skeptical at the idea that the NRA advocates kindergarteners bringing guns to schools, people shooting other people for no good reason, not defending murderers because they happen to use a gun, not celebrating every time someone is killed by a gun, etc.

The whole line of thinking is just bizarre to me. It makes me think that someone has no remote grasp on what people actually argue over on the gun control issue if they somehow come up with this twisted idea that the NRA and gun lobby are pro gun accidents and murder and all that stuff. It doesn’t even have a parody, mocking quality to it. It’s just completely bizarre and a waste of effort even typing about it - it makes you look like an idiot.

Edit: I realize we’re conflating two seperately bizarre things in this trainwreck of a thread, I didn’t mean to direct that at you personally, Simplicio. I was mocking the OP in concurrence with your mocking of kinderbortion guy.

I forgive you, since you’ve introduced me to the word “kinderbortion”.

It’s the natural consequence of liberalism, from what I understand.

I’ll leave it to you guys to figure out what I what concept/social pattern I was making fun of.

But, I do like the catchy phrase as well. Maybe the writers from South Park read the SDMB.

Though, I think the recent “apples to ardvarks” comparision edges you out in the repeatibility/creativity department.

I just want to point out that the NRA will happily take $15 per year for youth membership, and your child will help fight the scourge of the hoplophobes while also receiving Insight magazine!

*INSIGHTS, NRA’s monthly magazine for junior members, caters to all ages and skill levels among them. From the youngster eager to learn gun safety and shoot his first BB gun, to the high school smallbore competitor on her way to Olympic Gold, young people turn to INSIGHTS for its fun-filled, action-packed coverage of safety, achievement and excellence in the shooting sports. *

What the fucking hell does this incident have to do with the NRA? The NRA actively promotes firearm safety. They even have a program specifically aimed at kids with a mascot called “Eddie the Eagle” who specifically tells kids the following:

**
If you see a gun:

STOP!
Don’t Touch.
Leave the Area.
Tell an Adult.**

How in the motherfucking hell is the NRA the bad guy in this situation? The NRA’s entire mission is the EXACT OPPOSITE of the attitudes that lead to kids handling guns and accidentally shooting themselves or others.

This is like if a little boy gets a little girl pregnant, to start blaming Planned Parenthood. Actually, there are probably morons in this country who would do that. They hear “Planned Parenthood” and think ZOMG THEY’RE TEACHING OUR CHILDREN TO HAVE SEX. That’s equally as stupid as people who hear “NRA” and think “ZOMG THEY’RE TEACHING OUR CHILDREN TO SHOOT EACH OTHER.”

This is one of the dumbest fucking OPs I have ever seen in all the time I have been on this board.

Which part of " Stunned Sarcasm " was not showing on your computer monitor?

Sarcasm usually has some point to make. What point were you trying to make?

So we can make shit up if we say it is “stunned sarcasm”. cool.
