Kalhoun, I think it is like the neck coils of the people of certain tribes of Burma and South Africa…
It looks painful, but they are used to it. And the beauty makes them not notice any discomfort. Maybe. I haven’t had any elaborate braids in over 10 years.
Well, she was a fairly sturdy-looking woman, so I don’t think it bothered her as much as it looked like. But you’re right…it was such a beautiful look that it probably didn’t matter to her. She had a lot of her own hair, so the rows against her head were thick and uniform, not much skin showing through, and she had a rather intricate swirl pattern woven into it all. Just awesome. And it must have cost a fortune in both time and money.
