Kippot and Male Pattern Baldness

I was eating my lunch in the part the other day and noticed an observant (in the religious sense) Jewish man eating nearby - his kippah attached to his head (hair) by a hairclip.

This got me thinking - As the hairline receded, would a balding man have to attach the kippah further and further back on his head? How would a totally bald man attach it when there was nothing left to attach it to? Double sided tape? Or trust to chance and gentle winds?

This is not meant as a flippant question - apologies if it comes across like that…

Thumbtacks.

Seriously, however, I don’t keep mine on my head with anything. Granted, I’m not bald (ask again in about 10 years), but unless there is some serious wind, it just stays on by itself.

Ditto. For most of us, gravity (however minor) is enough to keep our kippot on, and I imagine (though I hope to not find out too soon) that it will continue to be when (if) I lose my hair.
