Just saw it and Had to post. Gene Simmons hawks Dr. Pepper commercial. Can be found on youtube.
Huh…I never thought I’d see the day when a member of KISS sold out for a quick buck.
Link.
Gene Simmons is one of the most enthusiastic capitalists on the planet. On the subject of merchandising, Simmons once said, “Anything that can have our faces on it . . . should.” I’m surprised Dr Pepper didn’t put out a special-edition can with the band printed on the side. Gene probably haggled too hard for royalties.
As a fellow teetotaler, I am glad that he’s hawking soft drinks, rather than hard liquor, like so many other rock-stars.
How freaky. Two seconds after clicking on this thread, I look to my left at the TV screen and, lo and behold, there is Gene Simmons in full Kiss regalia hawking Dr. Pepper.
Who was the director-like dude. Kid? Someone famous? Or just some director-like dude?
If I remember from their “Behind the Music” KISS is morally against nicotine, alcohal, and drugs. Blew me away when they said that.
He refers to Gene as “dad” so I am assuming he is Gene’s son.
Yeah, that’s Gene’s son, Nick. He’s well known to anyone who watched the reality show, “Gene Simmons - Family Jewels”.
Nick’s a smart kid who constantly complained about how materialistic Gene is.
That’s Nick Simmons. His son.
I kinda thought it was Dr. Pepper that was selling out by linking their product with a crass commercialist like Simmons. Kiss to me was always more of a brand than a band, sort of the Monkees of the 1970s.
Hard liquor is at least good for something. Soft drinks are absolutely worthless.
There’s a reality show about Gene Simmons? Is it… I… what… buh…
I don’t get it.
Gene Simmons has always been an outspoken teetotaler.
I don’t know about [the guy with the star on his eye] or Peter Kriss.
Ace Frehley . . . enjoyed the 70s. And faced the consequences later.
Yes, there is. It’s called “Family Jewels” and was/is on A&E (new season is coming, I guess) and it’s absolutely HILARIOUS!
I never liked Gene Simmons until I saw the show. Shannon Tweed is now my hero for all the ways she puts him in his place. That woman is truly evil (but in a good way!)
For all appearances, they seem like a very happy and grounded family and have tons of fun together. The kids are funny as heck.
Totally blew my mind. Watched the first show and was hooked – and I HATE reality shows. I can’t even remember why I decided to watch. Must have been something funny or interesting in the previews.
It’s definitely NOT the Osbourne’s!!
I thought the commercial for Dr Pepper was funny. It’s typical Gene and Nick.
My boyfriend didn’t catch that the first time we saw it and asked what the kid had called Gene. I replied that even if you hadn’t heard him call Gene “dad” it was quite obvious it was Gene’s son by the younger one’s physical appearance.
