Well, nobody replied to my “fish thieves” thread. I guess it was too mundane. So in the same vein, I present this…
I just heard on CNN Headline News that a woman was in her boat, when she found a small orange kitten paddling in the water three miles out to see. She scooped it up and took it to a vet. The kitten has worms, but is otherwise in good health.
The woman adopted the kitten and named it “Nemo”.
I didn’t catch where this happened.
Three miles out to sea? That’s a long swim for such a little kitten!
Wow, what a cute kitten! The poor thing, I can only imagine how scared it must have been! I had to rescue one of my cats from our swimming pool one winter, and that was scary enough for her, after only about 10 minutes! By the sounds of that article, a little longer and that cat would have been beaten by the waves! I’m so glad he was found and how has a good home!
Personally, I suspect the kitten’s ocean adventure was an accident. Going three miles out to sea seems like an awful lot of trouble to do something that could easily be done closer to shore (remember, the people who tend to kill puppies and kittens this way do it because they just can’t be bothered to take care of them or take them to a shelter; I don’t see them going out to sea THAT far if they’re that lazy and inhumane).
