My handsome and extremely special kitty, Vincent, passed away on April 12 due to CKD. Since then I have been in terrible grief. Since I am disabled, I am home quite a bit. Besides my mother, Vincent was my most consistent companion.
It took me a while to be ready, but on May 2 I adopted Nemo from the local Humane Society. He is a seal-point Siamese, approximately 2 years old, alert and intelligent, with a very loud meow.
The shelter knew very little about Nemo, because he was found in the anonymous overnight kennel, with no note or tags or anything. They called him Oreo, but admitted they have no idea what his name is, and I can feel free to change it. He was only at the shelter 4-5 days.
So far, we’ve discovered that he LOVES to hide and snuggle up in blankets, is an amazing climber, and wants to be petted but not held or carried.
Sorry for your loss, and congratulations on your new fuzzy buddy.
I had a Siamese for 14 years. The meow - oh my - you cannot mistake a Siamese meow. He was the best guard cat, ever.
I thought my life would be miserable when I lost my dog after 12 years last fall. But I found two new special pups who needed homes and they sure did fill up the huge hole in my heart.
How wonderful that you can have two best friends in your life - old and new
