I can't replace my cat Vincent... But I found Nemo!

My handsome and extremely special kitty, Vincent, passed away on April 12 due to CKD. Since then I have been in terrible grief. Since I am disabled, I am home quite a bit. Besides my mother, Vincent was my most consistent companion.

It took me a while to be ready, but on May 2 I adopted Nemo from the local Humane Society. He is a seal-point Siamese, approximately 2 years old, alert and intelligent, with a very loud meow.

The shelter knew very little about Nemo, because he was found in the anonymous overnight kennel, with no note or tags or anything. They called him Oreo, but admitted they have no idea what his name is, and I can feel free to change it. He was only at the shelter 4-5 days.

So far, we’ve discovered that he LOVES to hide and snuggle up in blankets, is an amazing climber, and wants to be petted but not held or carried.

(I hope I did that right; I’ve never posted a link to a photo before! If not, mods, please feel free to fix it.)

Just thought you all might like to know!

Sorry for your loss, and congratulations on your new fuzzy buddy.
I had a Siamese for 14 years. The meow - oh my - you cannot mistake a Siamese meow. He was the best guard cat, ever.

Congrats on your new Meezer (and condolences on the passing of your dear friend).

Meezers are the clowns of the kitty kingdom. He’ll keep you entertained, and ‘sing’ to you, too.

I’m so happy that you and Nemo found each other!

I thought my life would be miserable when I lost my dog after 12 years last fall. But I found two new special pups who needed homes and they sure did fill up the huge hole in my heart.

How wonderful that you can have two best friends in your life - old and new

Congratulations!

Your bookshelf is sagging…

In retrospect, that third pitcher of Margaritas was ill advised.

^^ ROFLMAO

What a lovely kitty. Glad you have a new companion. Thanks for sharing the photo with us! (You did it right, too.)

Yay! And special points for adopting a shelter kitty!

Ha ha ha! My mom remarked on that when she saw the photo.

It’s one of those particleboard pieces of junk - must be 20 years old now. But I need a place to put books so I can’t get rid of it. :o

:stuck_out_tongue:

“You know that cat we had?”
“What do you mean, ‘had’???”
“Well…”

What fun the two of you will have in the years ahead. Beautiful kitty.
