Kitty litter recommendations, please?

No more cats than there were before…
purplehorseshoe, would it be possible to put a small piece of carpet remnant in front of the box to catch the litter? Then you could just shake it out, or vacuum it?

Not a loosely woven rug - the illitterate one will drag it in the box  - but a stiff carpet piece? That might stop the litter from rolling.

I used Swheat Scoop until I got an infestation of pantry moths. They loved it, but I didn’t love them. I’ve avoided the grain-based litters since then.

I’m using Feline Pine clumping at the moment. It clumps pretty well but the clumps don’t hold together well during scooping. I’m trying to avoid clay litters as there have been reports that cats can get masses in their stomach from cleaning the litter off their paws. It does a good job of keeping the stink down. I did try the original version, but that was the long pellet type thing, and the cats didn’t like it. I think it hurt their paws.

No. I have a single cat and just started using Tidy Cats 24/7. There are 4 other clumping products they sell and it’s confusing. the 24/7 version is listed under scoop and non-clumping on their website. ???

I haven’t passed judgement on it yet but I really like the way it scoops out. The scoop moves smoothly through the liter instead of having to dig at it like it was hydraulic cement.

It may be possible you switched to a different Tidy Cat’s product and didn’t realize it.
