Knee cyst EXPLODES!

Not safe for work.

Graphic.

Brace yourself.

I warned ya.

Knee-splosive Cyst | The Derminator - YouTube

I am 100% not going to watch that based on your description. However, I have had a knee cyst rupture and it was HORRIBLE. I’m guessing that what you linked to was an external rupture which would be the grossness I don’t want to see. What I had is what they call a Baker’s cyst rupture. A lot of lactic acid floods your lower leg causing mass swelling and massive pain. I still live with that cyst but I can now get it drained when needed to keep it from bursting again. I’ve had it drained three times (I think the biggest was around 24 cc which is around 1.5 tablespoon) and have kept it from rupturing again.

This is what stopped me from demolishing downhill portions of big multi-leg races (I could absolutely fly down them!) as well as slowed my peakbagging. I’ve found a good middle ground and can do long distances, but know when to slow up a bit.

I know that liking that video shows a fault in me somewhere. But the big juicy ones like that are my favoritesl Bring 'em on.

Nooooooooo!!!

Dr Pimplepopper would have used a sharpened tube that cuts a perfectly round hole. That might have emptied it easier.

I am not a pimple popper fan but I will stick around for a farrier’s work even on an infected hoof. The delights of YT who knew folks would watch what they do.

That poor person, that cyst must have been incredibly painful.

No, it was surgical draining. A doctor cut open the cyst and emptied it, and then removed the whole cyst. But yes, it was gross.

What surprised me most was how little bleeding there was. That seems unhealthy. I suspect that’s related to the build up of gunk in the cyst.

Wow, that was a gift that kept on giving…

Remember the old TMI pimple thread Broomstick?

Oh, yes I do. Fortunately, I haven’t had any skin problems like that for a long time.

All the best pimple stories ever.

When I’ve had mine drained, it’s been a large hypodermic needle, connected to a large syringe, through the back of knee. Since the cyst isnt being removed, they have to be careful not to damage it. It hurts quite a bit, but just takes 1-2 minutes.

Glad I didn’t watch. I’m squeamish.

Man, if I had that thing inside of me, I’d want it out, too!

I half expected it to have a head and jaws.

Is this your knee?

Anyway, a SECOND cyst pops up out of nowhere at 4:44. Just sayin’.

This was from a dermatologist, so it’s probably more in the Dr. Pimple Popper territory.

The doctor probably also used lidocaine with epinephrine, and the latter not only makes the anesthetic last longer, but it also reduces bleeding.

I spent the morning of 9/11 having one of these removed from my scalp, and when I went back to the same doctor 15 years later to have the same thing done again, in a different location, he didn’t remember me even in that context. He apologized, but I did tell him that I knew that doctors generally don’t remember their successes.

Ooh, that was a good one. I love these things. Cysts and dilated pores of Winer are the best.

My daughter often watches YT videos on her laptop with headphones while the family is sitting around in the living room. Her screen is visible when you walk into the room, and she’s often watching really interesting how-to videos, but the first time I caught a glimpse of one of those, I couldn’t make sense of what was going on. Ugh! Disgusting (and, yes, spellbinding)!
