So what to make of the FACT that Don the Con is the one who actually ORDERED Betsy DeVos to cut funding for the Special Olympics, only to hang her out to dry (not that I’m feelin’ the LEAST bit sorry for her - please don’t misunderstand me on that) and then try to portray himself as the “hero” who would NEVER allow such a thing as that to happen (but ONLY when there was [predictable] push-back on it). Every single day I awake thinking that there is NO WAY that the Mango Mistake could POSSIBLY sink any lower and then he manages to do so, anyway. I SOOOOOO hope that we, as a people, manage to make the right choice and VOTE THAT PERSON OUT OF OFFICE NEXT YEAR 'cause we’re now ALL seeing what it means to have someone in the W.H. who was, and IS, clearly unfit to serve in that role. We don’t need any more examples of why he was a HORRIBLE choice. VOTE HIM OUT!!
Moved rant from Elections to the Pit.

At least until the point where he orders opponents rounded up and shot, he can always sink lower.
Don’t give him any idea’s.
Oh yeah, he gets those from Fox and Friends.
Remember, although Trump said he would restore the budget cuts to the Special Olympics, he didn’t say anything about restoring the far more substantial cuts to autism-related services that DeVos proposed.
Can’t figure this out: Was his original idea of cutting funding a trial balloon just to test the boundaries of of how much in the way of casual cruelty would fly, in the name of budget cuts? Was it a miscalculation on his part whereby he figured his base was eager to ( yet again ) kick down at somebody as he was?
I suspect it was to distract from the much larger cuts to special ed and other programs for the disadvantaged.
If I thought he was capable of planning, it would be easy to suggest that he put out the Special Olympics cut out there to distract from other cuts. Now that the SO cuts are rescinded, nobody has the energy to fight the others.
But he isn’t capable of planning. He sees government as a means to exact cruelty on others. His supporters are fine with that as long as he “hurts the right people”. I’m surprised that his Nazi followers aren’t chanting “Fuck the retards!”
It’s not in the script. Yet.
I think it is entirely beyond the intellectual capabilities of DeVos or the White House to plan anything, even to this modest extent you propose. They are not playing four dimensional chess; their strategic planning capabilities resemble more a slimy creature one might find in a tidal pool that can merely react to stimulus. The main difference is that a grip-toed sea booger will simply contract its muscles when poked, but the Administration reacts with malevolence whenever the sun rises.
In addition to being incapable of planning, I also believe that in this case there was no malice intended. It does not rise to the level of malice, that would require thought and consideration. Instead, I believe that the cuts are simply deep thoughtlessness. I am quite convinced that the current occupant went through the list with a red pencil and crossed out anything that didn’t fit into his worldview of enriching himself and his supporters. “Special Olympics, can I make money on this? Can anyone? NO! Cross it off!”
Convince me otherwise.
I think you give him too much credit for humanity. I think it’s more a case of “do these people represent the Aryan ideal? If not, no money for them!”
That’s a petty good take IMHO. He’s a moron that doesn’t care about anyone but himself. That he happens to stomp on people on his way to a better future for himself is just business. Mostly though, he trips over his tiny dick.
OmG that is hiLARious! And spot on, to boot!
I doubt he was even that involved. Any budget input other than “Make sure the Trump Wall™ is in there!” was coming from Mulvaney, Miller, and other senior staff pushing their own pet policies. Trump seems totally uninterested in such work, preferring to golf and hold rallies, and leave the details to his staff.
How does Israel figure into that?
I thought you were making an April Fool’s joke till I looked it up. WTF, Adolf? How did the Nazis buy into the Aryan crap when it referred to someone else?
On the separation of children: “I’m the one that stopped it. President Obama had child separation.”
“The Obama administration did not do that, no. We did not separate children from their parents,” former Obama domestic policy adviser Cecilia Muñoz told NPR in May 2018. “This is a new decision, a policy decision put in place by the attorney general,” which Muñoz said “puts us in league with the most brutal regimes in the world’s history.”
It was then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions who instituted the “zero tolerance” policy at the Southern border in April 2018, which resulted in children being separated from their parents who were taken into custody for criminal prosecution.

This is one of the reasons Republicans gaze lovingly at Trump, Pence-style. Because he’s a fucking liar, and Republicans have great respect for lying bastards.
As useful idiots. We kill Arabs, and at the moment they hate Arabs slightly more than they hate Jews.
