It's the perfect Trump conspiracy theory!

OK, so Donald Trump has been saying since the beginning of his campaign that he’s going to "Make America Great Again, " the implication being that we’re going to return to 1950s-style American economic hegemony. And we, the not-deluded, have long recognized that that’s impossible because the post-WWII absence of competition is gone, and it’s not coming back.

OR IS IT? (dramatic strings)

Why is Trump cozying up to Vladimir Putin? Why is he denigrating NATO? Why is he insulting Angela Merkel? Why is he playing good cop/bad cop with Kim Jong Un? Why is he trashing our relationship with China?

Because has a grand plan to start WWIII! If he can persuade Russia to invade Europe, and goad N. Korea into nuking China, the industrialized world will once again be in ruins, and America will once again be the Greatest Nation in the World!

The simpler and more likely explanation is that he has no plan. He’s simply an idiot who’s not fit to shovel shit from one place to another. Everything about him says that he’s just too stupid to know how big of an idiot he really is. Unfortunately, to about 35-40% of the country, Trump is what “smart” looks like.

Well, yeah, obviously. But the “world war three that magically doesn’t destroy America” idea would match up well with all the other nonsense Trump has repeatedly said he believes.

The new world order idea is not even his. We have Bannon to blame for that bit of idiocy. Trump couldn’t formulate an idea, let alone a plan, if it stuck its dick in his ear and fuck-started his brain.

Nobody gets to be President and defeat both the Democratic and Republican parties by being an idiot. As for your conspiracy, why would he want to eliminate 75% of his potential market?

He didn’t win because he’s “SMRT!”. He won because when you collect the alt-right, the conscience-less GOP and the dumber than a post rubes, pretty soon it adds up to real numbers. And THAT is the confederacy of dunces that served as an eye opener to the rest of us.

The truth: the marching morons elected one of their own (benefiting from the electoral system to win, even with a significant minority of votes.)

The conspiracy theory: the big pharmaceutical companies worked together with the big armaments companies to produce the greatest intrusion of the “military-industrial complex” in the history of the U.S., buying the election with “Citizens United” dollars, with the goal of enslaving Americans into sub-minimum-wage jobs and servants in their billion-dollar mansions.

Or, wait, I forget, is the second one the truth and the first one the theory?

Dang! You’re being logical again. Logic doesn’t apply in Trumpverse.

Trump believes he can do no wrong and that NOTHING will alienate his hard core followers (you know, “shoot a guy on 5th Ave,” etc.). So far he has been correct.

Trump is a Prick-a-Lick!

Yes, you do become president by being stupid. Trump is a case point. He keeps fucking up at his job, because he’s too stupid to actually do it. Just because he can stumble upon some weird psychology and luck out on picking the right moment doesn’t make him smart. He sounds like a guy with a 5th grade education. And, unlike W, he actually backs it up with child-level ideas. Or, more accurately, “senile old man watching Fox News” ideas.

He had a plan; he wanted to be elected President. That plan succeeded.

The problem is he never made made a plan for being President.

Sure, not by himself. He needed the help of sixty-three million other idiots.

There’s a lot of “correct” here but I’m of the opinion that what really put him over the top was a lot of not-so-dumb, average, but very sincere, hard workiing citizens who seized this opportunity to give Washington and its heretofore impenetrable political garrison, both Democratic and Republican, a collective middle finger saying No More For Any Of You. Trump, himself, being superfluous, it could have been anyone who was an outsider with enough balls and recognition to pull it off. “Yes”, the guy is an idiot, “yes” he is an embarrassment, but the bigger picture of “yes” is that both parties were horrified to see the place their decades of despicable self interest and endless deceiving ALL of the American public has landed them. Trump is no answer, he may be a disaster, but he was the only real option and chance to bust the first lock of this toxic monopoly. When it comes down to the real problems, the pharmaceuticals, the insurance vampire, the oil monster, the incest of Wall Street, there is no difference between Obama or George W., no difference between Hillary or Rubio or Cruz. I think those with wisdom can understand our penchant for painless quick solutions have led us ALL down a long, one-way road. We are going to have to endure a long trip back through the ruins we left behind and much nasty tasting medicine before we see real change that Washington never had the intention of bringing.

I’ll gladly take a 4 yr. Trump enema to take a first step of unblocking the impacted corruption of Washington. I may not live to see the results but ANYTHING that is a step to unseating every single left or right wing human political abscess occupying this government, no matter how insulting or distasteful it seems now, I’m willing to take it. There is no quick, painless, answer or way without suffering to rid this ironclad web of a political colossus we’ve allowed to proliferate for the past 100+ years.

Nothing to add to this thread, but the quote above is just the bee’s knees.

‘…fuck started his brain…’ BEWDIFUL.

So he misses wing tips and crew cuts, eh?

Smrt is Czech for death. Are you trying to tell us something?

I don’t think it works that way. The current state of affairs is made worse, not better, by the absolutism expressed by this guy and his followers. We need someone willing to reach across party lines (and Obama seriously tried that for eight solid years!)

This isn’t going fishing with dynamite. That actually works. This is cleaning the kitchen floor with dynamite: you only end up destroying the kitchen.

More specifically, you end up with Linoleum Blownapart.

I love you! That’s one of the best off-the-cuffs puns I’ve heard in my whole life!

Prior to the election of Trump I might have agreed with you; however, all the evidence suggests that Trump is not that bright and very ignorant. So apparently, a large number of American voters are quite willing to elect an ignoramus.

Yes, I giggle sometimes when reading the dope, but this time I actually “laughed out load”. Brilliant.
