I think it’s pretty well established that he has an unhealthy attraction to children. I would also consider a $20 million dollar payoff to an accuser to be tantamount to admission of guilt. That’s not even taking into account the mountain of circumstancial evidence (including actual, pending criminal charges).
Even so, to avoid a pissing match about it, the OP probably should have used “alleged” in the thread title.
I wasn’t trying to say he was a pedophile, just that if you’re willing to trust your kids to Michael Jackson, who WOULDN’T you trust them with?

But, to address the point of the OP before all our hijacks… What the hell is wrong with these parents and event coordinators? Goodness, even without the pending charges and payoffs (which speak volumes to any rational thinking individual), the guy is still weird.
Sure, let him put on a show for the kiddies, or raise or donate funds for their special needs or whatever. Just don’t put him in actual association with your child. Besides the danger of what we all believe about his predilictions, I wouldn’t want my child in the hands of someone who clearly has no fucking idea of what reality is.
Performances are one thing, close association is quite another.
Well, I can’t say that occurred to me, and I think the chances are vanishingly small. You misunderstand the law here, as I explained above. My assertion that Jackson is a pedophile has enough support, and is absent personal malice, so he has no grounds for complaint.

LOL, I actually do think he is a pedophile, but I will not comment on the alleged child abuse As someone else pointed out, there is a difference between pedophilia and child abuse…you can be a pedophile and chose not to have sex with a minor, therefor you can be a pedophile and not an abuser of children. What people may not realize, child abuse doesnt have to be performed by a pedophile…sexual abuse [aduld/adult, child/child or adult/child] is very frequently a power and domination thang, not a sexual attraction thang [if you understand what i am getting at.] There are enough instances of juvie raping juvies that are obviously a power and dominance thing, and more than enough pshrinks saying that rape [adult/adult] is more a power and dominance thang than a getting ones rocks off thang.
I think that Michael would benefit seriously from a short stay in an institution to get some treatment for his self image … he is a serious plastic surgery junkie. He also needs to address the psychological damage from his upbringing, which is why he seems to feel the need to buy love by providing a pocket disneyland, gifts and undue attention. I do understand he essentially wasnt allowed to be a kid when he was growing up, and never really had what anybody could call a normal childhood indoctrinating him in how people act with each other at different ages.
Poor guy, I really do feel for him, but unless he gets somehow placed in some form of treatment program, he is going to continue on like he is, and probably end up doing slammer time.

It looks like we might actually have something concrete to say about him pretty soon, then. I wonder what the actual chances of him serving prison time are? Might they not declare him insane instead? What would be better for everyone involved?
Jacko might not be the target in prison that one would expect. From some of what I’ve read about the Martha Stewart case, the other inmates have actually gone in the other direction, trying to befriend her and curry favor in the knowledge that she has beaucoup $$$$. There’s a chance that they may MJ first and foremost as a financial mark.
Then again, his crime would be much different than Martha’s. Child molesters are notoriously ill regarded in prisons…plus, he may not have that much money left by the time it’s all over.

Back to the OP, I have to render a qualified “so-what?” As long as the kids were supervised (by someone other than Jacko), and in a large group, and there was some media coverage, and no one got seperated from the group, and considering the case pending against Jacko, the kids were probably not in harm’s way. Had Jacko tried anything with one of the kids, that would have to be considered The World’s Stupidest Move, and just don’t think Jacko is that stupid.
