Couldn’t sleep and was watching the early, early news on channel 2. John Potter comes up with a great idea for election day.
Paraphrase: “Find someone who is going to vote the opposite of you, and then go out for pizza and beer, since you’re going to cancel each other out anyway.”
Would have been funny as a joke, but when the other 2 anchors chimed in with, “Noooo! Noooo! This is a bad idea!”, he doubles down and says it again, inferring that the time would be better spent eating pizza and drinking beer than voting. Could have been a major “Wooosh!”, but he sounded pretty serious, if not clueless.
Pretty mundane. Really stupid to say something like that on-air. The uncomfortable look on the faces of the other 2 anchors was priceless.
