Yes I have an old Kodak camera that I cannot afford to replace. It works fine but the LCD is fried and I have no way of deleting the pics in the camera. Kodak software allows upload only. Are there any programs around that can delete the pics using the Win98 OS?
You might want to try getting newer software. All the Kodak packages I have used allow for active links beween the camera and PC. Once linked if you use windows explorer to access the picture file folder you can view, choose and delete the pics directly.
If the Kodak uses a compact flash removable chip (not sure about your model) you can alternatively get a USB or parallel port card reader for 30 dollars or so or if you have a notebook or get a CF chip to PC card adapter for 10 and just read view and delete and picture files directly without the camera. It’s quicker and easier than interfacing the camera.
The Kodak web site says the DC25 does indeed use CompactFlash (CF) memory. I concur with astro’s suggestions - USB or PC card adapter is much faster, and you can delete or edit freely.
I too am surprised that the Kodak software doesn’t allow you to delete. Maybe there are other software on the disk included with the camera? I noticed some cameras come with both a full-fledged transfer/edit program and an acquire-only TWAIN driver.
