Kramer of JREF is Joey Kramer of Aerosmith?!

According to this link.

I’m surprised this hasn’t come up before here if it is true, or maybe I just missed it.

Here’s the guy.

Doesn’t look like it could be the Aerosmith guy born in 1950. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0469563/

But I didn’t get that far.

Does not appear to be the same guy.

Rock musician Kramer (of Bongwater, etc.) is not rock musician Joey Kramer (of Aerosmith).

The page linked in the OP doesn’t actually claim that the “Kramer” they’re talking about is a member of Aerosmith. It’s written in such a way that you might get that impression, but all it’s really saying is that the way rock fans worship this “Kramer” guy is the same way Wayne and Garth worship Aerosmith in Wayne’s World.

Nah, ntucker that’s incorrect.

"15 years ago, Kramer was among the most brilliant guitarists and songwriters in American rock. If you’ve ever seen Wayne’s World, in particular the scene where Wayne and Garth are prostrating before Aerosmith wailing, “We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!” then you have an idea of how Kramer is perceived by fans the world over. So it was a bit stunning to see him humbly carrying out his duties in the background while the celebrities got all the attention. " [My emphasis]

There’s only two possibilities: the person who wrote that article is deliberately trying to confuse the distinction, or they are being inaccurate and don’t realise that there are two musically involved Kramers: one ex Aerosmith and one ex Bongwater/now JREF.

Given the general level of factual/logical accuracy on the balance of that site, I’m going for incompetence over malice.

Kramer is a guitarist, Joey Kramer is a drummer.

And yes, that paragraph is impressive in how strongly it suggests that the two are the same person without actually saying so, ie. “rock fans perceive Kramer like Wayne & Garth worshipped Aerosmith”. I think this Dace fellow assumed they were the same, researched and found out they weren’t, and rejigged the paragraph to be maximally suggestive without being outright false. (and it is he who does not understand that evolution is simply biological change which must happen given the variance in environments and the variability introduced by sexual reproduction).

Just FTR, Wayne and Garth prostrated themselves before Alice Cooper, not Aerosmith.

How do you figure? Your quote says exactly what I suggested: the way Wayne and Garth worshipped Aerosmith in the movie (even though it apparently wasn’t actually Aerosmith, thanks Larry) is the way Kramer is worshipped in real life. It definitely does not say he’s in Aerosmith, although it may be trying to imply it.

Yeah, ntucker’s completely right, but it is so poorly (misleadingly?) worded that you could draw the other conclusion, especially if you have the false connection already in your head.
