Kremlin Interference again (and Others)

Primarily on YouTube, but also on Facebook “reels” etc, the Russians are again putting their thumb on the scale for their buddy trump-

Gremlins from the Kremlin, 1944 2024

Putin trying to use some reverse psychology:

It was, of course, a Joke- but

It is incredible how easy it is to trigger the thin skinned loser. Even when it is obvious manipulation in his favour by his allies, he must say he is greater than her. He can’t let it rest.

Heritage Foundation Spreads Deceptive Video About Noncitizen Voters

From the article:

In July, two men went door to door at a sprawling apartment complex in Norcross, Ga., an Atlanta suburb that is a hub for the region’s fast-growing Latino population, asking residents if they were U.S. citizens and whether they were registered to vote.

Speaking in Spanish, often peeking from behind half-closed doors, seven people told the men that they were not citizens but that they were registered to vote.

Although the two men claimed to represent a company helping Latinos navigate the election system, they were actually working with the Heritage Foundation and carrying a hidden camera. Days later, the conservative think tank posted a video on the social media platform X containing some of the footage the men had captured, calling it “staggering” evidence that 14 percent of noncitizens in Georgia — which Heritage said extrapolated to more than 47,000 people — were registered to vote.

“Based on our findings,” the video concluded, “the integrity of the 2024 election is in great jeopardy.”

The video was reposted by Elon Musk, X’s owner, who called it “extremely disturbing.” It quickly went viral.

@DrDeth, this is obviously not to do with Russian disinformation efforts, so if you prefer me to move it to a new thread of its own, I will be happy to do that. Alternatively, we can add the words, “and others,” to your thread title and broaden the topic. It’s entirely your choice.

I just thought it was important to note that these disinformation campaigns are also very close to home.

Go ahead and add that in. I am pretty easy on stuff like that. Its related.

Will do. Thanks!

It’s just a negligible bit of noise. For every Russian inspired post there are tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of posts coming from elsewhere.

If it comes from Americans who sincerely believe in what they are posting, that is one thing, if it comes from paid traitors to America- that is another thing- which leads to indictments.

People do NOT want to hear- “That meme you just posted? It originated in the Kremlin”- even die hard MAGAs get embarrassed for that.

Cite? I’ve seen nothing of the sort.

Look at the meltdown Tim Pool is having after this came out. Although that’s probably less embarrament than fear of indictment.

A number of high-profile, conservative influencers in the US have said they are “victims” of an alleged Russian disinformation campaign, after the Biden administration accused Moscow of carrying out a sustained campaign to influence the outcome of November’s presidential elections.

Tim Pool, Dave Rubin and Benny Johnson published statements on Wednesday evening addressing allegations that a US content creation company they were associated with had been provided with nearly $10m from Russian state media employees to publish videos with messages in favour of Moscow’s interests and agenda, including over the war in Ukraine…Pool, a popular podcaster with more than 2 million followers on X, said “should these allegations prove true, I as well as the other personalities and commentators were deceived and are victims.”

Johnson, who has 2.7 million followers on X, said he was “disturbed by the allegations in today’s indictment, which make clear that myself and other influencers were victims in this alleged scheme”.

Rubin said on X that he “knew absolutely nothing about any of this fraudulent activity” and that the allegations showed “that I and other commentators were the victims of this scheme.”

This is certainly a bogus argument by Johnson, Rubin and Pool.

It’s like if you’re caught selling stereos out of the back of your van, and you claim that you’re the victim here, because you could not have possibly known that the sketchy dude named “Benny the Snake” had stolen them previously. I mean, he told you he was a reputable wholesaler!

Oh yes, but they seem embarrassed and are denying everything.

It’s just a negligible bit of noise. For every Russian inspired post there are tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of posts coming from elsewhere.

Are you serious with this opinion? If you are, I feel it’s akin to saying Charles Koch and George Soros are just individuals and their political speech is just one opinion out of tens or hundreds of thousands. In other words, it’s ridiculous. Last time I checked, Tucker’s shopping trip in Moscow had 1.8 million views. And did you hear he now has his very own show on RT?

The reaction by Tim Pool is hilarious. He went from literally calling Ukraine the biggest enemy of the U.S. to calling for $200 billion in military aid overnight.

That would be “Russian propaganda mouthpiece, Tim Pool.”

Let’s just call these people what they are.

Now legal eagle speaks.
