Well it’s obvious that most (all?) of the people posting to this thread don’t especially care for K’s opinions or posting style, but why exactly should he be banned?
Should he be banned because you don’t like him?
Because he formats in manner permitted by this board?
Because you disagree with his opinions?
And on and on.
But, once again, why should he be banned?
Do you espouse the repealing of an amendment to the constitution of the USA, because you don’t like what he’s saying?
The US federal government not being allowed to restrict speech has nothing to do with the rules of this message board.
Without putting in my opinion on the matter, rules of the board include that you shouldn’t act like a jerk, or be a troll (posting in a manner to provoke without holding those opinions in reality, and without stating beforehand that you’d like to argue a point as a devil’s advocate). Abusing the board coding is also a cause for banning but I don’t think making eye-searing color is quite in that category.
In other words, it’s totally up to the moderators what to do, and when you signed up for a user ID on this board, you agreed to abide by mod/admin rules. Posters are presenting their opinions on this particular fellow’s behavior.
Well there are two competing factors:
Hes an idiot, let him make a fool of himself, we have nothing to fear from his hate filled rants. Why not let him continue to be shown for the fool he is, and maybe someday he’ll learn?
Board space. Do we really want idiots crowding up the boards? Do we want people like Kulk wasting the board’s member’s reading/posting time? Sucking away a thread from its original purpose?
If he has nothing to contribute, I dont want my time wasted. Bottom line. This forum should (in the more scholarly GD/GQ sections) involve informed, scholarly discussion between open minded individuals. Kulk is not scholarly in his methods, is far too defensive in his precepts to be open minded. When I see his name from now on Im going to roll my eyes and switch threads, or maybe even forums, cause I know from now on half of that thread has been switched to arguing against Kulk’s infantile attempts at reason and writing, and Kulk’s inane, hate filled counter spamming. So I dont really want to see his name up there. Ask yourself: does he really contribute? I havent seen much of anything.
Maybe we should restrict him to the BBQ pit solely for our occasional entertainment though

What’s “tame” in the Pit is certainly not “tame” in Great Debates, especially when for a lot of people it’s your only argument against them. A debate cannot be won by throwing childish insults at your opponent and refusing to listen to them in the process.
Dead links are not “from real life.” They are not “THE BEST PROOF YOU CAN HAVE!” They are, guess what, dead links. They add absolutely nothing to a debate since they provide no information whatsoever, unless the “File Not Found” page is a crucial lynchpin of your argument.
People don’t want you banned for the colors and insanely long posts and elipses. People want you banned because you’re being a jerk, by posting easily refuted information in what you claim is a search for reasonable debate, and then refusing to debate reasonably with anybody who objects to it. The colors, elipses, etc. just make your posts really freakin’ annoying, and aren’t going to win you any debates (or friends, for that manner.)

You’re right, Kukulon, you don’t have control over dead links. But while the fact that they’re dead doesn’t take away from their validity, it does mean that they aren’t going to help your argument. This because, if we can’t get to the site, we have no way of viewing the article and assessing its factual basis, and “take my word for it!” isn’t good enough validation.
I’m not personally debating the facts (or, rather, their ramifications) with you, I’m debating your style of argument. You only “refute” arguments that you think you can brush off easily, and do so in a very jerk-like manner. There are a lot of really legitimate points that have been raised against your argument that help to prove that you’re wrong, but you ignore them completely.
And I’m going to ask one more time: Why do you feel the need to color-code your posts? It’s not a bannable offense, of course, and the “red white and blue” theme might be of deep personal significance to you, but it only serves as a detriment to your argument, along with the unnecessary use of elipses. In short, it makes you come across as a raving idiot. Oh, and WRITING IN ALL CAPS DOES NOT MAKE A POINT ANY MORE VALID. IT’S JUST REALLY ANNOYING.
This guy’s either a huge troll, insane, or a bigot who thinks that good arguing skills involve being able to post in red, white (well, black) and blue, odd punctuation and grammar, and to post as many Google links (regardless of their validity or source) that get hits when he plugs in “immigrant” with anything bad. At least some of these links were live, and I see many of them were taken wildly out of context or had too much made of them. Seattle TB cases were up to 130ish from 117 or so the year before I believe, humans aren’t a huge malaria vector that I’m aware of (mosquitoes definitely are), the Maine case was a fight between some bigoted Americans and bigoted Somalis, etc. The Muslim rape statistic was one statistic in an article about Muslims working to try to prevent violence.
He mixes together op-ed articles that have no/few cites for their statements, single incident articles, and various others, mixes up legal and illegal immigration issues with native-born people of various heritages.
And of course, this ignores the issue that the United States is a country founded on immigrants, and unless - and I find this unlikely - Kukulkon is descended from one of the native tribes here, then he has immigrant forefathers and should be grateful that no one had railed back then as rabidly as he is now about the evils of immigrants.
I’ve been following this thread and the one that spawned it, as I’ve nother better to do right now.
Each time I open one of Kukulkon’s posts I think “OK, he/she will stop with the multi-coloured text and dead links and actually debate the issues”, but NO!
It is kind of amusing reading though.
