My point being – how do you know these Muslims you accuse didn’t also condemn terrorism as soon as they heard about it? It’s not like you made sure your condemnation was picked up by the Associated Press newswire; you just said it here. Maybe they said it there. Until you’ve made international news, you might as well be complicit in terror yourself, if the standard you’re using is “I haven’t heard them disown terror.” Is it fair to tar them with not responding )in a way that reached your ears) when you yourself have not responded (in a way that reached theirs)?
The problem isn’t Islam vs Christianity, it’s “I believe this” vs “I believe this and I get to kill you if you don’t.”
Each religion has had a phase where the scriptural literalists were also psychopaths. The solution is to dilute the doctrine with secular notions of tolerance and multi-cult respect. Keep the faith, hope and charity stuff and get rid of the arrogance of claiming to go invitation-only clubbing with God.
Unitarians don’t don suicide vests. The homemade explosives would just ruin their granite countertops.
